They are in charge of communicating visually. They work to make sure that the business can expand eventually because of the appeal that the website has. It is hard to pin down designers on what it is that they are allowed to do. But the main point is that these people should be able to come up with designs. They should keep track of new technology, be able to use HTML, XHTML or XML to layout the pages, and be familiar with the programming codes of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

The designer should be able to communicate your ideas to the visitors of your web pages. This person is also in charge of creating the graphics and navigation.

The designer should also be aware of elements like graphics, color theory, and typography. It helps if he is able to do an analysis of your target market and be familiar with a variety of coding languages.

It could be hard to find somebody that is able to do all these things and more but this is what will set the designer apart from everybody else. There are plenty of options on who to hire and as long as you are spending money this way, it does not hurt that you get one from among the best.
